Thomas had been a little surprised that after only a few days he'd been able to feed from a simple touch from both Lacci and Edward but suspected that was simply because they had been vampires. Perhaps life simply didn't cling to immortals like it did to humans. He drifted away from them in the pool; their desire simmered beneath their skin and his demon called for him to take it all, to drain them dry, but Thomas ignored it, keeping the Hunger in the mental cage he constructed.

He hauled himself out and laid on the grassy lawn next to the pool, content to watch the pre-dawn stars. It seemed his proximity went unnoticed as he felt desire rising to his right, then soft noises and the splash of water as bodies moved. Thomas closed his eyes, too comfortable to move, and let it all wash over him, lust and frenzy feeding him as he rested. He drifted off, his lovers' activities feeding him and the night's activities finally catching up to his body, only to be wakened by Edward's cry of release.

Thomas grinned and stood up; they were beginning to speak and he didn't need to be around for any lofty declarations and self-delusions. Without a word, he slipped into the bushes, leaving his weapons and ruined clothes behind for now. He'd get them after he'd slept; there was still one knife, blessedly zombie gore-free, in the bedroom for peace of mind.
